CASE STUDY: The First Daily Video Extreme Sports Service for Mobile Phones

THE OPPORTUNITY

A global distribution network hungry for daily, youth-oriented sports content for mobile phones.

THE PROBLEM

Existing programing was very fast moving and framed for the larger televison screen... this producing an poor user experience on mobile.

THE SOLUTION

Robinson created the brand "SMASH-BRAIN™" expressly for mobile. Seven shows a week were produced, and formated for streaming and download distribution systems. Robinson created special mobile programs entitled "SKATE 101" where viewers learn tricks from their mobile phones (try skating with your laptop) as well as special made-for-mobile clips on BMX, MotoX and skateboarding. "BIFF BONANZA", the most popular program featured wrecks and crashes in slow motion, enhanced for viewing on the mobile phones.

DISTRIBUTION

The content was distributed by Verizon V-Cast, GoTV and other outlets in Europe, Latin America and Asia

THE AWARD

SMASH-BRAIN won the top award (Best Made-for-Mobile TV Content) at the first-ever Mobile TV Awards at MIPCOM 2005 in Cannesd France.
