CASE STUDY: T-MOBILE

The first commercial carrier video download service in Europe.

THE OPPORTUNITY

T-Mobile Europe (UK, Germany, Austria, Hungary, Czech Republic) wanted to launch a mobie video download service in 2003.

THE PROBLEM

The technology was extremely limiting at the time, demanding that video files for delivery be less than 90 kb in size. Most conventional content providers were unable to offer a viable commercial product.

THE SOLUTION

Robinson led the CinemaElectric creative team to create a completely new production process called Dense Media Format™, which produced high quality video clips up to 24 seconds in length in a total size of 88 kb.

From the start, CinemaElectric provided T-Mobile with approximately 75% of all their downloadable video content in categories such as Sports, Fashion, Glamour and Celebrities.
